Airstream partnered with Nissan Design America and Kelty to produce a lightweight multi-purpose tent-trailer hybrid for a new generation of Airstreamers. This stylish trailer, designed to be both low cost and flexible, was the brainchild of NDA aces Bryan Thompson and Steve Moneypenny, who envisioned a travel vehicle that was a springboard for outdoor adventures rather than a living room on wheels.

Introduced during Airstream's 75th Anniversary year, the BaseCamp pays homage to Airstream's past, taking styling and content cues from the original "Torpedo" concept developed by company founder, Wally Byam in the 1930's. The attached tent extensions, engineered by outdoor products giant Kelty, provides a lightweight way to double the available living space.

Ultra-light: Airstream's BaseCamp can be towed by most conventional vehicles, with a 3,250lb. max gross weight, when fully loaded.

Aggressive styling: 20'' wheels, wrap-around windows, low profile stance, and Airstream's trademark aluminum skin give BaseCamp a look like nothing else on the street.

Flexible layout accommodates a customer's needs through many life stages. Original purchase can easily be outfitted with conversion packages.
